Microsoft OneCare deleting entire PST/DBX files

ZNet is reporting that OneCare is deleting entire PST/DBX [where all your e-mail is stored if you use Outlook and Outlook Express respectively] files from computers that have been identified to have viruses coming through their e-mail system.

Microsoft is currently working on a fix for this but we won’t see it until March 13, the next slated date for OneCare updates.

Personally, I’ve seriously been considering switching to another antivirus program such as ActiveVirusShield with Zone Alarm Pro as my firewall.  I’m not sure yet, I’m going to watch as this plays out.
