Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 problems with Internet Explorer
I use Reader 9.3.1. here at work and Acrobat 9.3 at home. When I’m at home, I can’t open or view PDF files without Acrobat crashing.
When I’m here at work, I can open up a PDF within Internet Explorer but when I close the tab, it crashes the IE instance of that tab. I have found a workaround and that is to run Internet Explorer as administrator but this opens you up to problems especially with all the drive-by malware going around these days. Ideally you should not have to run your browser in administrator mode just to read a PDF file without it crashing your browser.
I’m disappointed in Adobe. Yes I know I can use Foxit Reader or whatever other alternative there is but I do not want to do that. I do not want to use any other program except for Adobe Reader or Acrobat. I can’t find anything for the life of me on any other website. The info is very sparse and limited. If you’re having problems with Adobe Reader 9 as well as Acrobat 9 with Windows 7 64-bit, please leave me a message or contact me at ryan [remove] [at] random[remove]fix [dot] com.
Sorry for such a pain process of emailing me but it’s due to spammers.

Hi, I am having the same problem with Acrobat 9.3.1 on several machines at work, I’m the network engineer for the company. I’ve found that uninstalling and reinstalling seems to magically repair the issue. I’ve had random issues like this with Acrobat for years now, Adobe’s quality control is rubbish.
Merci pour ce post.
