Internet Explorer 8 RC1 sucks

Submitted by on Monday, 26 January 200911 Comments

There are still massive amounts of bugs.

I bugged a bunch and many of them they said cannot be fixed until IE9.  I think that’s a bit absurd if you ask me.

There is one that is keeping me from using IE8 full time.  If you scroll using your middle scroll wheel on your mouse, the page tends to scroll down then back up and then down again.  It’s a nasty bug that is going to plague IE8 into it’s final stages.

I just hope they figure out how to fix it as it is a PITA.

    IE 8 RC1 is filled with a lot of bugs that I don’t have the time too deal with and it is still too slow. Microsoft is ready too be flushed down the toilet in my opinion. Bill Gates could own the world of software, but he is too stupid to handle it. Bill Gates could be the god of software for the whole earth, but he is only a blind fool. Microsoft only loses ground every day. Every one is getting tired of being screwed by microshaft again as usual. Use Firefox. It’s a lot better. Vista sucks and we all already know that Windows 7 will also. It’s only Vista with a paint job. Microsoft is truly hopeless. If you know a lot about computers, try Ubuntu. It has problems too, but at least it is free and they actually try to make it better.

    You get one product IE-8 and is crap! Then after many hours of stress trying to restore your computer to its formal good running, you give up and remove the stupid IE-8 -and is start all over again. Maybe it is best to continue with IE-6! As for their solution…. yeah, sure -more downloads to resolve first downloads! That’s the way to get our PC chocked! I am sooooooooo sick and tired!
    Is this is what happens when we try to download upgrades?

    Internet Explorer 8 RC1, G’ I dont know why but yeah it really does suck, i dont know if its me or if every body has the same problem but i noticed that while browsing certain sites like youtube or youjizz.. lol.. it would give off some error message saying it wasnt able to open the properly, i was able to bypass it by closing the message and continue surfing, but then after a while it would just crash on me, the hour-glass would apear and id have to alt ctrl del to end the process, i also noticed everytime i opened internet explorer and close it sucessfully the hour glass would appear for like a good 4-5 seconds.. the only thing that i did see improve was the speed when id browse.. and the capability to recover and go back to the page you were viewing after a fatal crash.. lol but crashing shouldnt happen so consistantly, it almost looks like its meant to happen.. Its bad man BILLY do something man stop releasing BUGS..oh and by the way i uninstalled the peace of junk. IE7 works just fine

    IE 8 is actually worse than IE7. Forced to use it at work and the thing crashes like Windows ME. Firefox and Chrome both are a million times better.

  6. Shannon says:

    My kid had downloaded this IE8 & I had nothing but extream issues,

    I agree with Mike I had the exact same problems so i went back to IE7which isnt much better.

    Have You guys noticed that after uninstalling IE 8 you get this error message in your event viewer. If you dont already know navigate to your “control panel”, “Administrative Tools”, ” Event Viewer”, on your left pane you’ll see something that says “application” click on it you’ll notice that as you do that on you right pane error messages will appear im talking like a page full its just non stop errors named “userenv” well lets stop the flow of error messages.

    Your going to need to use your registry, if you have no experience what so ever using your registry id suggest you have someone that knows. results could be fatal…

    go to: Start Menu/Run

    type: regedit

    navigate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\
    you wanna stop there and hit the plus sign beside GPExtensions on your left pane.

    and look for this: {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D}

    and this: {7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE}

    delete them both

    now reboot

    once you reboot you may notice the computer may want to do a disk check as it will think you have shutdown your pc incorrectly thats normal hit any key to bypass the scan, it should boot successfully, the next time you reboot it shouldnt happen anymore.

    viola, you fix

  8. I can’t stand IE8!!!! The stupid pop up kept annoying me until I downloaded it-what a mistake!!!! It’s made my computer shut itself off at weird times, constantly gives me incorrect info about needing to close a site, and I could go on for hours. This IE* has made my hobby of surfing nearly impossible. Generally it just sucks. Why don’t the people who make this figure out if it really works first before they put it out??? It keeps showing a possible connectivity problem and then always comes up saying there is no connectivity problem. Is this AT&T’s doing or Microsoft’s, somebody else’s or all three? Does anyone know how to safely remove it and get back the prior version? I am ready to dump AT&T.

    re: ie8 upgrade 5/5/09 was really slow, but I read on a cnet forum that the Spybot Search&Destroy immunization was causing this. So I undid my immunizations and it worked the browser loads much faster now. I hope it works for everyone.

  10. Yes yes yes, we all know that Internet Explorer 8 sucks more than a Dyson bagless vacuum. I particularly now have problems opening my Yahoo Inbox like I used to, it just keeps saying page can’t be displayed.

    Also, If I am on a website, and then hit Ctrl-F or use F)ind from the menu, A white blank strip appears at the top of the browser space. that’s it…no text box to enter text into, just a useless white space. It’s not even a soothing white, it’s really just irritating. If I had know that Microsoft was employing blind monkeys with no hands to write their software I would have notiified the SPCA immediately. However, I cannot blame these monkeys, after all, they are blind and have no hands, which clearly explains why this software is so poorly constructed. Yes, I may seem a little extreme in my harsh words towards these monkeys that are taking jobs and income from actual, TALENTED programmers. Microsoft needs to go into emergency surgery and remove the hemmoraghing blight from within, that is known as the Internet Explorer Development team. That entire team should be taken out and publicly flogged in front of the TENS of MILLIONS of people whom they have wronged. This is the only acceptable punishment.

    P.S. also in recent news, when pressed for the reasoning behind Microsoft choosing the number SEVEN for their upcoming re-re-re-re-re-re-realease of the Windows Operating System, they said “That is the sum total of all programs that are compatible with it.”
