The Exception Breakpoint error message
Submitted by Ryan on Wednesday, 24 October 20079 Comments
I am working on a friend’s computer and whenever I tried to shut the computer down, I would get this message indicating “The Exception Breakpoint” and some other stuff about a “Bad Image.”
I then tried to uninstall Zone Alarm and got the same damn message.
I tried so many different things but could not put my finger on it.
Then I realized that the error had to do with Zone Alarm.
How did I fix it?
I went ahead and went to the preferences tab and then checked for updates. I downloaded and installed the newest available update, installed it, and rebooted. Once this was completed, I could then shut Zone Alarm down as well as uninstall it. The error messages also went away.
What a pain in the damn buttttt.

Great post.

Guys, this isn’t a zone alarm problem… it’s an issue with the OS and/or hardware on your pc. Either the OS wasn’t properly handling memory heap/stack from Zone Alarm (in the first example, the update fixed it because the update had proper code that fixed the problem!). In general, this error gets thrown when the OS can’t properly manage memory allocation for one reason or another… either the memory is bad or some low-level corruption exists in the OS. If it only happens every once in a while, or has gradually gotten worse, I would try replacing the ram.
Thanks very much for this distinct post;this is the words that keeps me awake through out these day. I’ve been looking around for this site after being referred to them from a colleague and was pleased when I was able to find it after searching for long time. Being a avid blogger, I’m dazzled to see others taking initivative and contributing to the community. Just wanted to comment to show my approval for your work as it is very enticing, and many writers do not get admiration they deserve. I am sure I’ll be back and will recommend to my friends.
