William,

Yes, I highly recommend Super Antispyware. On top of that, I highly recommend Kaspersky's Internet Security Suite 7.0 that is available through my very own sponser: Kaspersky which is located on the left hand bar that you see here.

I'm not trying to pimp a product but I use it myself. If you already have an AV solution then Super Antispyware will be a great addition to your arsenal.

I talked to another tech at work on Friday and mentioned Ad-Aware 2007. He told me he has had nothing but problems with it constantly crashing. We both had a good laugh when I told him I experienced the same thing.

Update:

I evaluated some of the Software recommended here and it ALL performed superior to AdAware 2007.

I finally settled on, and purchased, "Super AntiSpyware".

It is excellent - absolutely NONE of the problems I had with AdAware 2007, as to Registration, Contacting and Updating from their Server, and Errors and Failures.

Regards, William

Hello:

I fully agree.

I ran AdAware SE Pro for a long time, then I stupidly purchased AdAware 2007 Pro (by Lavasoft's "come on" to switch to AdAware 2007) - TWICE.

I can't even get AdAware 2007 to Register or even accept the Serial Number that they sent me by Email, and nothing that Lavasoft Support suggests works, even though I have "killed", by their recommendation, as many running Programs as possible (which I never had to do with SE).

When I enter the Serial Number, it checks the Lavasoft Server, to obtain the "Unlock Key", and it consistently returns an invalid unlock key, which never works.

They admittedly (by their own previous statement) have problems with their AdAware 2007 Registration Server, which sometimes will not even connect (not the same problem with their AdAware SE Server).

They can ONLY be contacted by Email, or their Address in Sweden, or their Telephone Number in Sweden - they do not even have a USA Office or Telephone, even though they sell their products in the USA.

I still run AdAware SE but, as you say, AdAware 2007 sucks !
