As I reported earlier, Microsoft removed IE7 from Microsoft Updates; it seems that IE7 has re-appeared in the optional section of Microsoft Updates. The one change that I noticed was that they no longer prompt you if you would like to check for additional updates as well as going through the WGA process prior to installing IE7. It’s all automatic in that it’s behind the scenes with no user interaction.
I headed over to the Internet Explorer team blog and attempted to ask them why they removed it in the first place and got the usual, “We didn’t remove it, nothing’s wrong,” response in return.
I truly believe that it is much more beneficial for Microsoft to include IE7 in Windows Updates as it fixes a lot of bugs that IE6 is plagued with.
