Two more Israeli soldiers kidnapped

This is definately not good news for the people in Israel as well as Palestine.  I can only see more violence erupting from this new set of kidnappings.  For a while I thought things would calm down, but I guess not.  Not right now anyway.  We have North Korea and their crazy trigger happy leaders and now deeper stuff is going down in Israel.  I truly hope that we can come to some type of diplomatic resolution on both sides.

I am getting very tired, it’s 11:46PM HST and I need to rest.  I have work tomorrow and we did get pretty busy today.  Until tomorrow.  Aloha.

All in? Or all out?

You’re not going to be allowed to use a credit card to wager online bets.  A vote went through the House and it was agreed upon that they want to outlaw online gambling, or at least put a stop to it.

Ever since the World Series of Poker started to get really popular a few years back, I’ve noticed the online poker trend take off.  I can only imagine how lucrative of a market it really is.  It’s so easy to fire up that browser, click on that favorite link and get playing.  Now instead of packing your bags, buying a plane ticket or filling your car up with gas, you just get online and bam, you’re in business.  Not only that, people can play up to several tables at a time while online.  You could never do that in person, even if you tried, you’d probably lose a lot of money.

Here in Hawaii, gambling is already illegal.  We’re one of the few states who have a ban on gambling.  There have been measures to try and legalize gambling, at least even to an extent of a lottery system.  It’s never materialized and I don’t think it ever will.

Cadillac Williams NFL rookie card going for $25,000.00 on eBay.com!

For all of you NFL fans, Cadillac Williams plays for Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2005 NFL draft.  His rookie card from Upper Deck’s Exquisite line of cards is going for $25,000.00 on eBay.com.  Yes, you read that right.  Twenty five thousand dollars.  This all for a piece of cardboard with his autograph.  Now I understand there are RICH people out there who have money to blow but you have to be insane to buy this card.  I collect cards as a hobby and I won’t lie and say if I pulled this card I’d milk it for all I could get too but at the same time, if I was on the outside looking in, I’d have to think you were insane to purchase this card.

IOGear MiniView 4-port USB KVM

I work as a PC Tech and in doing so, I do fix multiple computers at one time.  I do so by utilizing a KVM switch.  A KVM switch allows you to connect several computers to one keyboard, video/monitor and mouse.  This saves a lot of space and time by only having to connect one set of cables to the computers that are on the bench.

I’ve been using a Belkin KVM switch at work, it is a PS/2 switch and so far it has been OKAY.  I think it’s time to move on to another KVM though.  So I opted for the IOGear MiniView 4-port KVM.  At first, I was going to go for the GCS-1774 which is a full featured KVM.  It includes a 4-port switch as well as USB 2.0 support for peripherals.  However, I decided that I did not need that many bells and whistles so I went with the plain regular 4-port KVM.

You may have found this page by typing into Google, “IOGear nVidia,” if that is the case then yes, the IOGear KVM switches do have problems with the nForce 4 chipset.  There is a really easy solution.  You do not need to install a PCI USB card into each computer.  Instead, just pick up a USB hub.  The hub plugs into the computer, then you plug the KVM USB ports into the USB hub.  Walla, no more problems.  Thanks to the guys over at the official nVidia.com forums for working diligently at figuring out what works and what didn’t.

I should receive the KVM by Thursday.  I will report back on the quality and if it works.

KVM switches are not the most reliable computer peripheral devices around.  I mean every website you go to that allows user reviews are plagued with negative reviews about KVM switches.  I am taking my chances with this IOGear but I hope that it will eventually be alright lol.
