Healing power like Wolverine? Why yes, plug yourself in please

According to this article I found over at digg.com scientests have claimed to have sped up the healing of wounds or open cuts by 50% by using electricity. Imagine just plugging yourself in after receiving a nice cut while trying to mod your new Lian-Li case. LOL! The possibilities are endless. Or imagine being in a fight and being cut open and then retreating back to your vehicle or base and plugging yourself up so that you can heal faster. That would be insane. Obviously this is just a dream but the gist of it is there. Read the article for the deeper details that I obviously cannot explain in layman terms.

Microsoft Vista voice recognition goes bananas

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1123221217782777472

Just watch that video, the title explains it all.  Microsoft was trying to what seems like demo the voice recognition in Vista and it just goes downhill from there.  Watch it and see.  I LOL’d.

IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 part 2

My rant yesterday was about the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0.  I managed to find one for sale at a http://www.zipzoomfly.com/.  I had heard about them selling them for a while now but only now managed to purchase one.  Reason I took so long is that you need to buy a piece of hardware with the mouse since it is an OEM sale.  Last I checked, the mouse was the actual 3.0 version and not the 1.0 that is being sold right now.  The 3.0, IIRC, has two smaller side buttons for the forward and back buttons.  Here is a picture of what I was expecting.  Here is a picture of what I will be receiving come Monday.

Now here is where the tricky part comes in.  ZZF doesn’t state it is the 3.0 model in the item description but when you view the web page, in the browser title you clearly see it stated as being the 3.0 model.  Now that is where I get annoyed.  I’ve already spoken to someone else who said they attempted to buy the same mouse but received the 1.0 model and complained.  After hearing complaints I think it would be the right thing to do to remove that 3.0 and change it to the real version.  I think that is deceitful and really annoying to say the least.

I have given up on this mouse any way.  The IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 is only supported by the IntelliPoint 4.1 software.  As of last night I finally configured all of my programs to use my various mouse buttons.  I noticed at work when I tried to do the same to my existing Explorer 3.0 that some features could not be mapped to the extra buttons.  I guess I’ll probably pick up the Laser 6000 once again and see if I can get used to it.

Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0

Why did Microsoft stop manufacturing the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0?  I mean this is probably their best mouse ever made.  The Laser 6000 was a complete flop.  I truly do not understand some companies’ logic.  This is probably the most sought after mouse.  If I remember correctly most gamers love this mouse.  I know I did and still do.  I use one at work every day.  The 4.0 was alright, but nothing like the 3.0.  I just cannot fathom how the engineers at Microsoft don’t catch wind about the design flaws or problems with their newer mice.  And if they do catch flack or hear something through the great vine, why don’t they do something about it?  My only guess is that the Laser 6000 is actually selling well lol.

I mean why can’t they just create something similar in style to the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, box it and put it on to the market.  They would make an insane amount of money.  Yes, Bill is already rich as heck but c’mon!  Give us what we want!  Well most of us…  IntelliMouse 3.0 should be brought back to replace the Laser 6000.  The Laser 6000 is a complete disaster.  The buttons are placed way too far up to be reachable by the average human hand.  Put the two buttons right where they used to be, on the same side.  Maybe, maybe add a sixth button where your pinky hangs off but put it at a relatively easy to reach place but not so easy to as to accidentally press it.

What would be so hard about placing a damn laser into the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 molding and calling it a day?  Sometimes I truly wonder what the hell those guys do all day long.  Too bad they don’t have some type of suggestion site.  I’ve tried fruitlessly to suggest things in the newsgroups, no one listens.  And don’t even get me started on how the Natural 4000 keys are damn hard to press.  Oh boy.  This is I believe my third or fourth keyboard and the keys are damn hard.  Compared to my Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro 2.0 set from about a year ago, these keys are like typing on a damn brick.  Oh woe are the days of soft keys in which it letteth me keepeth my handeths pain free.  Damn you Microsoft!

All this for $9.95.  People over at digitalpoint.com have said it works and have already setup multiple domains on this service.  I haven’t done it myself so I can’t vouch for how well the service truly is.  I am just repeating what I found since it does seem like a really good deal.

Microsoft Office 2003 User error message

If you receive a user error message saying that Office needs to be installed for this user and you’ve tried endlessly to uninstall and reinstall, you’ve come to the right place for a fix.

Check your virtual memory settings by going to Start, then right clicking on My Computer.  From there you will go down to Properties, left click on it and then click on the Advanced tab.  Next, you see the Performance area at the very top?  Click on the Settings button.  Now go ahead and click on the Advanced tab.  At the very bottom you will see the Virtual memory option area.  Click on Change.  You now see at the very bottom where it reads: Total paging file size for all drives?  You see where it says recommended?  You see where it says Currently allocated?  If your two numbers there are WAY off, way off being anything over a few numbers etc, Recommend: 512 and your Currently allocated is at 2034 MB, then that is more than likely what is causing your problem.  In the middle area where you see the “Set” button, make sure the “System managed size” radio button is selected.  Once you’re done doing that, click on Set.  You’ll now have to restart your computer.  Try opening Office and see if you still receive that error.  If you do, mess with the settings again but I’m almost certain you should not see that error any more.

Hurricane Daniel heading for Hawaii

Hurricane Daniel, if it hits us as a hurricane will be the first one in several years.  It’s being speculated that the storm will die down and will eventually become a tropical storm which may hit the Big Island of Hawaii.  I’m located on Oahu and we haven’t had a hurricane directly hit us [Oahu] for quite some time.  I think we’re long overdue.  I don’t mean to sound negative and all but it’s just part of nature.  So if you don’t see me on for a long time, it’s very possible that I lost power and my house blew down.  Take care.

AMD purchases ATi

Since late last week it had been rumored that AMD had agreed to buy ATi for 5.4 billion.  Throughout the weekend a lot of speculation has been going on and it seems that AMD has said they plan to make a significant announcement on Monday.  What that means?  Oh, let’s just say that they probably purchased ATi and that they now have something to fall back on if Intel creams with Conroe and if they fail with their future endeavors.  It’s a big announcement and a huge partnership.  I truly would rather have seen AMD go with nVidia but if I’m not mistaken, nVidia wasn’t looking to be bought out and or their price point was way too high.  I hope that this isn’t the beginning of the end for AMD.  I mean yes, they’re purchasing a company and how could that possibly be their demise?  But hey, who knows, you never know.  What if nVidia decides to partner with Intel?  Then what?  I mean hey, it could happen.  The future will surely get much more interesting, that’s for damn sure.

Microsoft 4000 Natural Ergonomic keyboard part 4

So I decided to buy this keyboard, again.  This is my third or fourth time purchasing the same keyboard.  I’ve returned it all the times that I’ve purchased it just because it didn’t feel the way I like my keyboards to feel.  Yes, picky, I know.  I’ve been using the second Wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard that I bought due to the softness of the keys however the newer models are now made exactly like this 4000 model.  So, I said why not just invest in the 4000 since it feels the exact same as the wireless keyboard I’m using.  If I’m going to get used to it, I might as well get the wired 4000.

So here I am with the 4000.  It does feel a tad bit softer than the last one I owned.  I’m going to stick with this one for I don’t know how long but I’m sure for at least a year or two unless it breaks down.

World Fighting Alliance: King of the Streets review

WFA: King of the Streets review

As you may or may not have known, the WFA stands for the World Fighting Alliance and they have actually been around for a while.  John Lewis, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt used to run the show a few years back.  From what I understand, the show eventually went bankrupt.  With the recent success of the UFC, someone saw an opportunity to capitalize on this new sport.

The WFA had a very big budget for this show.  When I say big, I mean big.  If you follow MMA you’ll know what I mean.  For example, Rampage vs Matt Lindland, these two guys alone, these two guys are in the top five in each of their respective weight classes.  These guys could headline both UFC and PrideFC PPVs.  Besides that, Ivan Sallavery, Ricco Rodriguez, Mayhem, as well as Lyoto Machida and Vernon White.  Those are ALL big time names.  Not a can mentioned.  Kimo would have also been on the card had he not tested positive for a banned illegal substance in his system.

Anyway, on to the results.
